Plaskal mounting parts development project
When i work on this design, i was freelance designer. The aim of the project was developing the mounting parts of the Snowwolf Product. The mounting parts were producing in automat machine, after pressing they were mounting to elastic ropes. The production process was expensive, the produced parts were not ergonomic and the metal material were hurting hands under the cold atmospheric conditions. The procurement expense was 1 TL for each part and 4 TL at total.



The sketch group in placed in square got our attention. It is suitable for the plastic injection method and user friendly. There was only one problem about it: It needed a elastic rope mounting detail. If a rigit plastic directly inject on it, elastic rope could slide and escape from the rigit plastic front of little forces.
I had solved that problem by cutting the rope by using hot scissors. In this way, it can put a screw end of ropes. While injecting plastic, system will be locked itself.

I developed 3 solutions. First two of them are not match very well to mass production lines. They said that
“ We can not support quality control easly about screw position. Because, we can not fix screw everytime same point of rope”
3rd solution is accepted so finalization. They said that “ We can fix screw by small core to center of volume and inject plastic easy. Screw will lock the system. And it would be more stronger than we need. (standart force 400 Newton)”

Result: By this solution it decreased totaly about saved expenses 3/4. Product became more ergonomic to user hand. Also, metal versions was cold in snowy. Plastic ones warmer than old ones.
